Another Day
The kettle hums,
the street wakes up,
and somewhere a bird
has no idea
what went wrong with my life.
The light comes through the window
like it always does,
touching the dirty glass,
the empty cup,
the clothes I left on the chair.
It doesn't ask
if I slept well.
It doesn't care
what I lost yesterday.
A river doesn't complain
about the stones in its way.
It bends,
it passes,
it keeps no record.
Maybe that's enough.
Not everything needs a reason.
Not every bad day
needs to become a lesson.
Leaves fall.
Rain comes.
People leave.
Things break.
Then morning arrives
without an apology.
It’s new dawn
It's a new day.
Not better.
Not worse.
Just new.
And maybe life
was never asking me
to win.
Maybe it only said:
Walk when there is a road.
Rest when you are tired.
Let go when something is gone.
The sky will change
with or without me.
So I get up,
open the window,
and breathe.
Same world.
Same mess.
Another day.
